I'm honored that Professor Arnaud invited me to enjoy the play "North Star" at theater, Shasta Hall tonight.

"North Star" is the work of Gloria Bond Clunie. North Star flashes back to the summer of 1960, the summer following the Greensboro, North Carolina sit-ins.

Aurelia Taylor, an African American woman who now lives in a northern city. She is the adult "Relia," and the play is her reflection on growing up in North Carolina.

The play is mainly talking about the desegregation demonstrations happened in 1960s.

This is a wonderful chance to learn not only American history but practice listening skills.

At the first 10 minutes of the play, I can hardly understand what those actors and actresses are talking about.

As the play all the actors and actresses are African Americans. The way they talk is really fast as a train passing by.

No wonder Professor Arnaud sent the guide before the play and I read that this afternoon.

It does really help me understand the play.

As an Asian who is also the color race, I have never been treated as the way the white people treated those African Americans at that time.

Now I can realize how they feel through this play. It's really brutal and crude.

I can't imagine why the white people try to insult and spit on black people.

My tears burst out at the last scene that is acting the way how the white people purposely harass and spit on black people.

I feel really angry by the time I see this scene.

Black people is so great that they don't fight back; instead, they just sit there silently and peacefully to pursue the desegregation.

In the end, I think everyone should learn from the history that every race is right to treat equivalent.

No race is superior to any others.

Everyone should pay respect to races that is different from yours.

Live in peace......
